LifePoint Church- Director of Children’s Ministry
MINISTRY SCOPE:
Provide leadership in children’s ministry (Birth-5th Grade) that seeks to reach children with the
gospel of Jesus Christ.
Partner with parents and provide resources that promote spiritual growth in the lives of our young people.
Train and encourage lay leaders in all areas of children’s ministry.
Oversee coordination and communication. Ensure a cohesive ministry with the church elders.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Foster Spiritual growth in children and families.
Mentor and nurture all children’s ministry volunteers in both their ministry and their personal walk with the Lord.
Coordinate with Worship Leader and LifeGroup Leaders to provide worship experiences during the scheduled worship and classroom time periods.
Work with Senior Pastor in planning parent/child dedication services.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
CURRICULUM
Conduct an annual curriculum review.
Order and distribute curriculum for Sunday morning LifeGroup, Children’s Church, and VBS.
Evaluate curriculum needs/suggestions from Sunday morning LifeGroup Leaders.
VOLUNTEERS
Work with leaders to develop, update, and communicate the Children’s Ministry vision, theme, goals, and policies/procedures.
Assist leaders to recruit volunteers for all areas of Children’s Ministry.
Coordinate and ensure all volunteers within Children’s Ministry are properly screened and approved to serve per church’s safety and security policies and procedures.
Plan and conduct ministry-wide volunteer training sessions.
EVENTS
Participate in and evaluate seasonal Children’s Programs and Events, (VBS, Christmas events,
etc.).
LEADERSHIP
Serve as a member of the LifePoint Leadership Team directed by the Senior Pastor.
Provide status reports regularly to the Senior Pastor, at scheduled church conferences, and ministry team meetings.
Plan and submit annual budget request for Children’s Ministry.
Stay current with the trends and needs of Children’s Ministry.
Work with leaders to create ministry brochures and provide regular updates for the church
website.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Have made a public profession of faith and have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Demonstrate Christian integrity and character in all his/her public and private affairs.
Maintain a consistent time in prayer and Bible study.
Demonstrate a strong desire to see the Gospel proclaimed in word and deed to all people.
Accept without reservation, the Baptist Faith and Message 2000, and the statement of faith, covenant, and vision of LifePoint Church.
Submit to the authority of God’s Word.
Support the ministries of LifePoint Church with time, talents, and treasures.
POSITION HOURS:
This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week. These can be carried out remotely or in the church building as needed.
