The Family/Youth Pastor seeks to provide a well–balanced program for families that will
assist the families of Eastside to disciple their children in order to reach the lost for the
glory of God.
Job Responsibilities and Duties:
Ministry to Youth:
1. Develop, promote and coordinate a balanced program of activities and discipleship
ministry to youth.
2. Train and involve youth and youth leaders in an outreach program to reach unsaved
youth.
3. Plan yearly youth emphasis (i.e. Youth Week, Youth Revivals) to involve youth in
areas of church leadership.
4. Involve youth in ministry, mission projects, camps and events.
5. Be available for counseling.
6. Support youth in their school setting.
7. Lead weekly youth meetings for grades 5-12 (Sunday Morning/ Wednesday Nights).
8. Organize and run any youth fundraisers for camps, missions, etc.
9. Delegate set up, tear down, clean up and lock down after all youth programs and
events.
Ministry to Parents:
7. Be available to parents to discuss issues related to their child or youth ministry.
Ministry to Student Leadership:
8. Enlist a balance of men and women youth workers.
9. Lead regular leadership meetings with youth leaders.
10. Provide training opportunities in church and/or at state and national
levels.
Other Responsibilities:
11. Attend Pastor/Elder meetings and shepherd the flock
12. Draw up a yearly budget for the youth ministry and submit it to the Budget Team.
13. Will be available to fill the pulpit, conduct funerals, assist deacons in hospital
visitations, etc. In the pastor’s absence.
14. Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Work Hours:
This position requires flexibility in hours available for work, including evenings and
weekends. The position is a part time, salaried position $20,000-30,000 based on
education and experience. It is recognized that the schedule may vary at different times of
the year with other duties as requested by the Lead Pastor.
